Blake Street Hebrew Congregation Inc.

Rev. Samuel Altschul holds a Master's Degree in philosophy and a Bachelor's Degree in Comparative Religious Studies form Universities in Denmark along with a post graduate from the Machshevet Yisrael Department (Jewish thought and history of ideas) of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

He was appointed Assistant Minister to Blake Street Hebrew Congregation in October 2009. Previously he has worked for the Chief Rabbi's office in Copenhagen, Denmark and after arriving in Australia in 2007 as Assistant Minister to Kew Hebrew Congregation, Melbourne.

Samuel caters mainly to the pre bar/bat mitzvah youths, teenagers and the young singles/newly weds. He also teaches Bar/Bat Mitzvah Classes, basic Hebrew, synagogue service survival courses and gives Jewish philosophy lectures to all age groups.

He is married to Shosha and they have two boys.
