Originally from Sharon, Massachusetts, I moved to Melbourne seven years ago with my wife Sara and our three children after receiving rabbinic ordination from Yeshivat Hamivtar in Israel. Beyond my role at Blake Street, I am a teacher at Leibler Yavneh College, a jazz singer with the pioneering Alter Jazz Ensemble and an aspiring novelist.

Yaffa Bart is Blake Streets Youth Director whose focus is on Shabbat programming at shule, engaging the Bnei Mitzvah students, as well as forming a youth leadership team..

I grew up around the Blake Street community, starting out my leadership journey as a senior player on the Blake Street foursquare court. Since then I have combined my love for Judaism and desire to educate into running the Ohr Chadash kids’ service. In my final year at Yavneh (2017) I held the role of Jewish Life and Zionism Captain. I spent my first year out of school in Yeshivat Har Etzion in the Gush in Israel. I hope to inspire the BBB kids as they enter a key formative stage of their lives. I can’t wait for this crazy year.
